At Quality Tracking we have some outstanding employees. And we have decided to lift the veil and introduce our readers to the people that make us who we are. We would like to feature a few of our outstanding employees with a ‘spotlight’ article dedicated to them, introducing the Consultant Spotlight.
Our very first consultant spotlight will feature our Senior Consultant, Ted.
Ted has over 40 years’ experience in various industries. From the Aerospace Industry at Fokker where he started his career, to the heavy industry, building garbage and Forklift trucks. Ted now partners together with the Quality Tracking team, utilising his knowledge and skills in various projects and companies. His role as Senior Consultant takes form in the broadest sense of the word.
When any customer requests a specific skill or expertise, Consultants like Ted jump in and strive for optimum results throughout the project period.
Ted is a strong people’s manager. His perseverance and eye for detail are put to good use day in and day out. His experience and coaching qualities are well utilised in various situations throughout his work.
What is a normal day look like for you?
I usually begin my day with a cup of coffee while opening my mail and looking at my agenda. Reviewing the different obligations and appointments I have planned for the day. In addition to this, I always collaborate with management and colleagues regarding any last minute priority changes effecting the days planning. Apart from any scheduled obligations, the rest of my day mainly depends on the planning and any unforeseen occurrences. The end of the day is usually reserved for answering emails and catching up on my administration.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy the interaction with people, and the coaching role I fulfil. Working as a consultant for Quality Tracking offers variety in the different projects and clients served. Working for Kverneland performing Supplier Audits and for LIS at Voestalpine and Airbus Space and Defence have been my favourite projects so far.
What are some career lessons you’ve learned so far?
- Try to stay yourself and respect your personal limitations.
- Don’t hope too long but act.
- Try to learn from anyone who has mastered the trade from doing not from saying.
- Don’t take anyone for granted.
- Respect you have to earn, it cannot be enforced.
What could you tell us about yourself we probably don’t know about you yet?
I’m a professional cook, I enjoy free drawing, photography and building things around the house. The best book I ever read was The Firm by John Grisham and a trip to New Zealand is on my bucket list. My spare time is usually filled riding my motorcycle, fishing, cooking and playing with my grandchildren.
Do you have a favourite quote?
